SPIRITUAL HOUSECLEANING
"And you may not take a disgusting thing into your house, and so become cursed with its curse; but keep yourselves from it, turning from it." Deuteronomy 7:26
Most objects in this world are neither good nor evil in and of themselves. However, the use to which they are put can establish their spiritual significance.(1)
Just as spirits and demons can work in and through people, having a defiled object in your home gives demons a legal right to be there. Awareness of their evil presence is called spiritual discernment. Sadly, many christians lack discernment and suffer the consequences of it.
Defiled objects in a christian home can be the reason for chronic sickness and suffering lack whether it be financially or in your relationships.
Defilement can come in many forms. Look around your home for these: any images of dragons, goats, owls, frogs and foreign gods; magic charms; souvenirs of past sins (2); jewelry (gifts from unknown people or bought in a pawnshop); ungodly movies and music; ungodly paintings and posters; books that glorify evil and fear: such as Harry Potter, Stephen King, etc.; toys and games such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Dungeons and Dragons; video games that are violent; ancestral heirlooms (tapestries depicting dragons, face masks, etc.). Even the incense you burn may have been manufactured by people who offer their work to a false god.
There are so many ways the enemy gains entrance into the homes of God loving and God fearing people. We need to wake up to the subtle ways that Satan gains ground in our lives and in the lives of our children. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the objects which are causing you and your home to be defiled.
After you have located a defiled object, take it outside of your home, to a trash bin and if you can, break it and render it unusable and say this prayer as you dispose of it:
Heavenly Father, In the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, I ask You to forgive me for having this object in my home. I ask You to cleanse me, my family and my home of any defilement caused by having this object in my possession. I ask You to lift any curses put upon me, my family and my home because of it. I command every evil spirit attached to this object to leave now and never to return to me/us again. I do this in Jesus' name and in His authority.
Ask God to bless you, your family and your home in Jesus' name.
